Mazda Power Window Auto Function Reset: A Quick & Easy Guide
If you've recently had your Mazda’s battery disconnected or experienced a window motor replacement, you may find that the windows no longer open or close automatically. Thankfully, resetting the system is a quick and easy process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to restore the auto-open and close function:
-
Turn the ignition ON – Ensure the vehicle is in the "ON" position, but the engine does not need to be running.
-
Check the power window lock – Make sure the power window lock switch on the driver's door is not engaged.
-
Fully open the window – Press and hold the window switch until the window is fully open. Keep the switch pressed for an additional 5-7 seconds after the window reaches the bottom.
-
Close the window completely – Pull the window switch up to raise the window all the way, and continue holding the switch for another 5-7 seconds after the window is fully closed.
-
Turn the ignition off, then back on – After the window has been reset, turn the ignition off and then turn it back on to complete the process.
-
Test the system – Once you've completed the reset, test the windows by using the door switches to confirm that they now open and close automatically.
After completing these steps, your Mazda's power windows should function correctly again. You can now use the master control switches to open and close each window automaticlly with ease.
