How To: Mazda Power Window Reset Procedures
Mazda Power Window Auto Function Reset
If your Mazda's windows have lost their auto open/close function after a battery disconnect or motor replacement, this quick reset procedure will restore them in under 2 minutes.
When to use this guide: After a battery disconnect, window motor replacement, or if your Mazda windows no longer auto-open or auto-close with a single press.
Set the vehicle to the "ON" position. The engine does not need to be running.
Make sure the power window lock switch on the driver's door is not engaged.
Press and hold the window switch until the window is fully open. Continue holding for an additional 3–5 seconds after it reaches the bottom.
⚠️ Hold past the end stopPull the switch up to raise the window all the way. Hold for another 3–5 seconds after it fully closes.
⚠️ Hold past the end stopTurn the ignition off, then back on to complete the reset sequence.
Use the door switches to confirm the windows now open and close automatically with a single press.
✅ Reset complete. Your Mazda's power windows should now auto-open and auto-close correctly. Repeat for each window if needed.
