Known faulty or ageing Subaru master window switches can overload and damage a replacement motor. Check the switch and window mechanism before fitting the new motor. For best reliability, replace the master switch when installing the motor. Proof of purchase and installation of a replacement master switch is required for warranty claims involving electrical burnout.
