Check the Master Switch Before Installing

Window motor burnout is a known issue with this model. A faulty or aging master window switch is one of the most common causes of window motor failure in Subaru Liberty, Outback, Forester, Impreza and Tribeca models.

For the best reliability, replace the master switch when installing the new motor. Proof of purchase and installation of a replacement master switch is required for warranty claims involving electrical burnout.
