Using Scotch-Lock Connectors for Window Motor Wiring

Scotch-Lock connectors allow you to make a connection without altering the car's original wiring. This method can also be used to connect a 2-wire motor to a 6-wire plug.

This method removes the auto-function. The window will only operate while holding the button — one-touch auto-up/down will no longer work.

Identify the two power wires coming from the original plug on the car. In a 6-wire plug, the power wires are typically the two thickest wires.

Close the T-Tap connectors over the two power wires using pliers. The connector pierces the insulation and makes contact with the wire inside — no cutting required.

Push the motor's leads onto the connectors. Note: Black is negative from the motor. A trace or stripe on the car's wiring typically indicates the negative wire.

Test the connection using the car's switch — confirm up is up and down is down. If reversed, unplug the motor and swap the connectors around.

Once the correct connection is confirmed, tape and immobilise the connectors to ensure longevity and prevent movement over time.
